Watkins lists top four

At Sunday's Rivals.com/VTO Sports Elite 100 in Charlotte, N.C., Forest City (N.C.) Chase junior Carlos Watkins lived up to his billing as a big-time defensive tackle prospect -- particularly during one-on-ones, when at times he was practically unblockable.
His performance served as a reminder why the 6-foot-4, 275-pounder currently holds offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Clemson, Duke, Florida, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, N.C. State, South Carolina and Wake Forest.

"The last one I got was Alabama," Watkins said. "That was in March."
Right now, Watkins, who recorded 50-plus tackles and 14 sacks in 2010, has four programs in front.
"It's Clemson, Alabama, South Carolina and Florida," he said.
Of the group, he spoke the most glowingly about Clemson.
"You know, it was my first offer … and it's not far away from home," Watkins said. "I've taken two visits there. The facilities are great and the coaches and players all get along real well. I've also been to Tennessee and South Carolina."
What's next?
"Hopefully, I'll get to Alabama," Watkins said. "But I'm not sure when. I also want to get down to Florida sometime soon."
Watkins made one thing clear about his group of leaders: it's not necessarily set in stone. In fact, he called it his "current" top four.
According to Watkins, he plans to "make some official visits" this fall before announcing a final decision.
