Watkins is not committed to Miami

Interesting things happen when you have as many as 10 Division I players at one single high school. Take the situation with Pat Watkins of Tallahassee (Fla.) Lincoln for example.
Earlier this afternoon, Rivals100.com and SECRecruiting.com reported that Watkins had committed to Miami late last night. At the time the reported appeared to be accurate because the source of the story was trusted Lincoln assistant coach Tony Collins and it was also reported at least one newspaper in Florida.

It was the original newspaper report that spurned the call to Collins in the first place. But it appears that a line of communication broke down between Collins and Rivals100.com.
“I thought we were talking about Greg (Threat),” said Collins. “It sounds like we had a big mix-up here.
“Greg is definitely going to Miami. At this point, who knows what Pat is going to do right now. It wouldn’t surprise me to see him wait until after Signing Day to make his decision.”
Rivals100.com regrets the error and in our effort to always report as accurately as we can for your recruiting fans, we felt the need to make a correction.
It’s the nature of the beast that mistakes do happen when covering recruiting – as several other recruiting services also quickly reported that Watkins had committed to Miami – but it’s also right to admit that you made a mistake and move on to breaking the next commitment.
