Watkins didnt watch Sugar Bowl

Many people thought that Lake Gibson, Fla., offensive tackle Jason Watkins’ recruitment would be swayed by what happened in the Sugar Bowl when both LSU and Oklahoma battled for the BCS national championship.
However, instead of sitting on the edge of his seat, Watkins didn’t watch the game that involved two of his top five teams.

“We watched some of the game, but I was trying to get back from the Cal-Florida Bowl, so I didn’t get to see it,” Watkins, a three-star offensive tackle that is 6-foot-9 and 300 pounds, said. “I did get to watch some of the highlights.”
Watkins, who visited Oklahoma back on December 12 and was very high on the Sooners and is scheduled to visit LSU on January 16, said the victory by the Tigers doesn’t have an effect on his decision.
“Naw, the game it’s going to have any effect,” he said. “I’m just going to base my decision on my visits. That’s what’s going to be what I decide on.”
Watkins also was quick to point out that Florida (January 9), Auburn (November 21) and Michigan State (December 5) are also big-time players on his list.
“I was really high on Oklahoma after I took my visit up there,” he said. “But I’ve kind of come back to my senses and decided that I need to take my time with my decision. I don’t want to rush into anything. I’ve loved all of my visits so far, and they were all great.
“I just need to take two more of them and then decide.”
