Wasonga is set for a busy summer ahead

Running back Allan Wasonga out of Parkersburg, W.V. is beginning to roll up scholarships. The 5-foot-8, 196-pounder discussed the latest in his recruitment.
"Recruiting has been kind of slow," he said. "I got an offer from Pittsburgh, that was actually back in February.

"I'm hearing from more schools, most of them just need me to come to their camps. Illinois wants to see me in person. I think Duke, Virginia, Louisville and Maryland are close to offering me too."
Recently Wasonga visited Marshall.
"I really liked it," he said. "It's close to home and I like what Doc Holliday is doing there. He's a good guy. Plus, my brother plays there, Caleb Wasonga, he's a defensive back. That's a big deal for me."
At this point though, Wasonga is high on the Panthers.
"I've kept in contact with them the most and I like the way they use their running backs," he said. "When talking to me, they say I'm similar to Deon Lewis. I see the similarities. They are treating me like I'm the next guy to lead and that they need me. I also want to make a visit. I was supposed to go last week, but I didn't get the chance."
Wasonga discussed plans to take some visits soon.
"I should be going out this summer to Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Florida State, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh and West Virginia."
