Washington TE sets first visit

One of the top athletes in the Northwest the past couple of years is Joe Halahuni from Orting (Wash.). Halahuni is getting looks at a number of positions and has two offers under his belt at this time.
Halahuni, 6-3, 220 pounds has colleges talking to him about playing tight end, wide receiver, H-Back, linebacker and defensive end. We currently have the athlete rated with tight ends which is also where he would like to play in college.

"I think H-Back or tight end, maybe even some receiver," Halahuni said. "Just whatever gets me on the field. I definitely prefer offense though."
As a junior, Halahuni put up huge numbers with 38 catches for 1,062 yards (28 yard ave.) and 13 touchdowns to earn 1st team all-state honors. The athlete said things have been a little tougher this year.
"I'm basically getting double and triple teamed every play," Halahuni said. "I have six touchdowns but four of them are on punt and kick off returns. I probably have about 200 yards receiving right now with two touchdowns but it has been tough finding some open spaces and it's a little frustrating too. At least I know it's opening things up for the rest of my team."
On the recruiting front, Halahuni has offers from Oregon State and Utah and received calls from both plus Montana, Oregon and Washington.
"I have a trip set to Oregon State for (Sept. 30)," Halahuni said. "I also want to take visits to Utah, Montana and Washington State. Those are my favorites right now and I don't plan on making my decision until after I take my trips."
Halahuni is the No. 15 rated prospect in the state of Washington and the No. 34 ranked tight end in the nation.
