Winter Park (Fla.) linebacker James Washington took his second official visit this past weekend, traveling up to Maryland to check out the Terrapins.
"It was good," Washington said.
Washington, who has previously taken an official visit to Florida International, arrived in College Park on Saturday morning. He got a tour of the campus, facilities, and learned more about being a student-athlete at Maryland.
"The campus was awesome," Washington said. "They also have a really good academic program."
As for the loss the Terps suffered against Virginia, for Washington it showed that they have holes to fill.
"The game was OK," Washington said. "You see what they need to work at. You see that they are rebuilding."
During the visit, Washington had an opportunity to sit down and speak with head coach Randy Edsall.
"He told me they want me to play outside linebacker," Washington said. "He just said that they want me up there. He was just telling me how he is big on academics, he wants his players to succeed on and off the field. He wants his guys to end up in the NFL, but if that doesn't happen, he wants them to graduate and be prepared for life."
With two visits now under his belt, Washington is planning a third to the school he is currently committed to.
"I am planning to visit Syracuse in December, on December 9th," Washington said. "I am still committed to them. I think that might be my last official visit."
