Washington Names A Leader

Jacksonville (Fla.) Jackson defensive back/athlete Leon Washington won't announce his decision until next week, but he does have a leader.

"Right now I'm leaning to Florida State," said the 5-foot-10, 180-pounder. "If I had to choose right now it would be tough, but it would be FSU."

Washington has been visited by Florida State and South Carolina over the last two days. Now it's time to think and decide.

"It won't be easy," he said. "I really like coach Holtz and I talked to him yesterday. He gets you fired up just talking and I felt like I was ready to go out and play. He's a great coach and it would be hard to say no to him, so this isn't over yet. Florida State is comfortable for me, but I could wake up tomorrow and like South Carolina better."
