So when the Huskies came through with an offer in recent weeks, the 2015 running back from Seattle (Wash.) O'Dea said he was definitely thrilled.
"I've been talking to them," Gaskin said. "After every game I update them with my numbers and they came through with the offer. "They're great people. They're really nice. I got to know coach (Marques Tuiasosopo) on a personal level and other coaches I usually talk to about my games and they tell me what to do in certain situations. They're really cool people and coach (Steve Sarkisian) is really nice, too."
Washington and Washington State have offered Gaskin, who has rushed for more than 1,700 yards with 27 touchdowns so far in his junior season. O'Dea remains undefeated.
The Huskies are definitely one of the favorites, but it's still too early to make a decision. Still, a lot is going for Washington in his recruitment and could be difficult to beat.
"They'll always be a leader for me," Gaskin said. "It's only like 15 minutes away from my house and being a local kid that's just nice to have. That would be a great school to go to for me."
The 2015 recruit already has two offers and he said interest is coming in from Oregon State, Arizona State and others.
