Washington favors Dawgs, Tide

Four-star Grayson (Ga.) offensive tackle/defensive tackle Lorenzo Washington has two schools at the top of his list.
“Georgia is still up there pretty high with Alabama,” he said. “Those are my top two, but the others are close behind. I'm not really close to making a decision or anything.”

Washington (6-5, 270, 4.7) is rated the No. 11 player in Georgia and the No. 18 offensive tackle in the nation by Rivals.com. In addition to the Bulldogs and Crimson Tide, he also has offers from North Carolina, South Carolina, Ole Miss, Duke, Louisville, East Carolina, West Carolina, Middle Tennessee State, Chattanooga and Eastern Kentucky.
Asked why he places Alabama and Georgia at the top of his current list, Washington said: “I like both of their defenses. They play great defense and I like the way they work with their D-Line. They produce a bunch of All-Americans and send a lot of players to the NFL.”
Washington has made only unofficial visit this fall, taking in the Alabama/Oklahoma game.
“I want to make about three or four more,” he said. “I’d like to go to some of the big rivalry games like Georgia/Georgia Tech or Alabama/Auburn, but some of those are on the same weekend. I’ll just try to make it to as many as I can, then try to figure out where I want to do my officials.”
Grayson is 1-2 so far this season. Washington had three sacks in the season opener and has added two more since. He’s starting at nose tackle in their 3-4 scheme.
Academically, he maintains a 2.7 GPA and will take his test again in October.
