Washington enjoying the games

When it comes to recruiting games, Jacksonville (Fla.) Andrew Jackson cornerback Leon Washington has heard them all - especially since he's the top cover corner in the entire nation.
But when it comes to special attention, not many are better than Steve Spurrier Jr.

"I was planning on going to one of the upcoming Florida games," Washington said. "I guess coach Spurrier at OU found out about it. So he called me up and said: 'This is coach Spurrier, and I'm sorry to say that we're out of tickets and that we can't be host to you this weekend, so please don't come to the game.'
"It was one of the funniest things I've ever heard. He immediately told me that it was him and that it was a joke, but he had me going there for a second. I thought it was his dad, you know the head coach at Florida."
So go the games that coaches will play to catch the ear of one of the nation’s top overall prospects. Washington, a five-star selection, said that type of attention isn’t enough to push Florida or Florida State from their perches on his list.
“It’s still the Gators and the Noles,” Washington said. “I’m going to take all five visits for sure, but I’ve liked Florida all along and FSU’s loss last week doesn’t change a thing about how I feel about them. We all knew they were going to be very young this year.”
Michigan State, Oklahoma and probably South Carolina will also get visits before he officially decides.
