Washington Diary: Challenging Texas

Five-star defensive end R.J. Washington of Keller (Texas) Fossil Ridge has agreed to do a diary for Rivals.com about his experiences leading up to and following the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. The game will be played at 1 p.m. EST on Jan. 5 and broadcasted live on NBC. Players reported to San Antonio on Sunday, and they will begin practices on Monday. Washington will share his thoughts from San Antonio with Rivals.com each day.
SAN ANTONIO - I'm just ready to get going.

Just being here, it's a pretty good feeling. It's always good to be compared to great players that have been here before, it just feels good.
As for the game, I'm thinking two sacks, maybe like five quarterback pressures, a couple of batted balls. I pretty much just want to command attention.
In practice I'm not worried about the attention in practice it's the same old, same old, I try in practice, the game, regardless.
I'm excited to play against the Texas guys. I'm just going to hang out with them; I'm cool with the Texas people for now. We've already started talking, after Jan. 5, we're cool until Jan. 5.
Also just the chance to play against Stephen Good. I was thinking about it the other day, I'm in good running shape, cause I've been playing basketball but I haven't been lifting. But I know Stephen is a workout freak so I don't know how it's going to go.
