Washington adds Bama offer

Four-star running Robert Washington of Huntersville (N.C.) Southlake Christian Academy has seen his offer sheet continuously grow throughout his recruitment. Alabama is the latest big time school to offer him.
"I was amazed because I got the chance to talk to coach Saban," said the 5-foot-10, 215-pound Washington. "With the kind of guy coach Saban is, him being a big time coach and the things that he has accomplished over the years, so it was definitely an honor. We actually talked on the phone. I called the defensive line coach and he got me on the phone with coach Saban.

"I grew up an Alabama fan and I have been watching Mark Ingram, Eddie Lacy, Trent Richardson, T.J. Yeldon, Derrick Henry and guys like that," Washington said. "Even last year, the commits like Marlon Humphrey and Tony Brown and the guys that committed last year. I have been watching everybody. I'm in the process of planning a visit."
Washington has been to talking to many schools lately.
"I'm in touch with Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, North Carolina, TCU, Florida, Miami, Pittsburgh and Virginia," Washington said. "There are a lot of schools that have been talking to me. Alabama, LSU and just places like that."
Washington is in the middle of releasing his top six, announcing one school every two weeks or so, but there are a lot that have a good shot with Washington.
"I don't have a favorite school," he said. "I just released three of my top six schools. They are UNC, Syracuse and TCU. Coach Alford's at Ohio State and I had a good relationship with coach Alford when he was at Notre Dame. He was recruiting me and he offered me. I definitely still like Ohio State. Coach Luper at TCU is a good dude. He had 22 1,000-yard backs and he coached Tre Mason and Michael Dyer, so he's a good dude. Coach P is a good dude as well."
Washington is focused on planning trips for this offseason.
"I'm trying to get down to Alabama, but I don't really know yet," he said. "I have to work around my sister's spring track schedule because she runs track. That thing is hectic, so it will work around that."
Washington plans on committing in April.
