Warthen shined at Miami NIKE

Lauderdale Lakes (Fla.) Boyd Anderson all-purpose back prospect Derrick Warthen was one of the most impressive prospects at his position at the Miami NIKE Camp.
Right now, he has his sights set on several of the nation's top programs, including all three major Florida schools.

"I like Florida State," he said. "I always wanted to go there. I like Miami. I like Texas and USC and Florida."
The 5-foot-9, 170-pounder has been timed as fast as a 4.4 seconds in the 40-yard dash and displayed the ability to catch the ball well out of the backfield during the camp.
Warthen and his Boyd Anderson backfield mate, Chris Anderson, were the two top running backs there. Warthen talked about his showing and playing with Anderson.
"I think I did pretty well," he said. "We have that one-two punch and have that chemistry so far."
Warthen has several goals for next season, all of which are team-related.
"My goal is to win state," he said. "My senior year, I want to win it all and go undefeated."
