Warren enjoys visit to Tucson
When it comes to setting up a last minute visit, it's tough to get any more last minute than what happened with Long Beach Poly (Calif.) defensive back Donovan Warren and Arizona this past weekend.
Warren, 5-11, 170 pounds is one of the nation's elite cornerback prospects. We had just talked to Warren a few weeks ago and he never mentioned Arizona as a school he was considering so it was a little surprising to hear Warren was in Tucson checking out the Cats this past weekend.

"I set up that up real late," Warren said. "Me and Kenny (Rowe) talked to the coaches at Arizona on Thursday and since we had a bye this past weekend, they asked us if we wanted to come up for a visit and we said, 'sure that would be great.' So basically, the day before the visit is when we set it up but I had a great time, we both did.
"We flew out Friday and got in to Tucson around 4:00. I met my hosts, Mike Turner and Delashaun Dean, and we went out for dinner and then toured the city. Tucson is really nice, it's a lot different than Los Angeles, more slow paced but I still liked it a lot. I think it's definitely a place where I could see myself fitting in real well at.
"Saturday we toured the campus and the football facilities. The campus is really nice, it's so clean there and all the buildings look like they're brand new. I met with the academic advisers, saw the weight room, locker room, all the usual football stuff. After the tours were over, we headed over to the stadium for the game.
"It was a fun experience being there because the crowd was so hyped but things kind of quieted down in the third quarter. We sat in the student section and it was pretty crazy. It was just me and Kenny, no other recruits, and a lot of people were coming up to us and shaking our hands and telling us we needed to come to Arizona.
"Even though the team lost, I was still impressed watching them. They have a lot of young talent and a great coaching staff so I think they're going to turn things around pretty quickly.
"On Sunday, we met with the coaches and watched some film from the game. They kind of broke things down for us and showed us where we would fit in. I talked to both Stoops brothers, Mike and Mark and they're both good guys and I like their energy a lot. Overall, I'm really glad I made the trip. It's funny, I actually had Arizona State as a school I was looking for but now I'm pretty high on Arizona.
"This weekend, I'm going to Michigan for my second visit. I'm going to call Coach English tonight to make sure everything is good to go. My other trips will be to Ohio State, Cal and Oregon. I was going to visit Ohio State when they play Michigan later in the year but I'm not sure if I want to take that visit during the season or wait until after the year.
"Oregon is for sure going to be after the year and I'm goign to visit Cal during the season. Those will be my five official visits and then I'll take unofficial visits to USC and UCLA. I'm feeling both of those schools a lot because they're close to home and I like how they have been playing on defense this year.
"As for making my decision, right now, I'm planning to wait until Signing Day. I'm really in no hurry and this is a big decision for me so I don't want to rush it. It's really going to be hard and I'm already stressed out about it. This is going to affect the rest of my life so I want to take as much time as I can to make sure I'm doing the right thing."
