Ward adds offer, discusses visits

Reidsville (N.C.) Rockingham offensive tackle Justin Ward picked up his first offer during the May evaluation period from Marshall. In the past month, the 6-foot-5, 280-pounder has added a second offer and visited approximately a half dozen summer camps.
"I added another offer from Buffalo," he said. "I also have been to a lot of camps including Marshall, Wake Forest, ECU, North Carolina, Duke, Virginia and NC State.

"All of the camps I've been to have been great. Probably the best three right now were Duke, Wake and North Carolina. I don't know what it is; I just felt more of a connection at those schools, particularly with coach Pittman and UNC. He's a real great guy and it seems like I might be able to get a scholarship from them. My height is hurting me, but they say there's still a chance."
What are Ward's chances of getting an offer from Wake Forest and Duke?
"Duke said they'd let me know real soon," he said. "I just camped there last week.
"Wake Forest said once they get my tape they'll do one of two things. They will either offer me or wait until the first game of my senior season. All three of those schools are amazing academic institutions and if you get a degree from there you can work wherever you want. The location is nice too; they are all about an hour and a half away."
As for a decision, the Carolina lineman isn't sure what'll happen.
"Right now those schools haven't offered, but once I finish up camps and see what they do I'll weigh my options and have some leaders," he said. "I don't want to drag a decision out too long, but I'm still looking to take my time and keep my options open.
"If I can get it done that would be great because I'm more focused on my high school team and helping them. Practice officially starts for the season on July 30th."
