Walsh postpones UNC trip

Tallahassee (Fla.) North Florida Christian offensive tackle Paul Walsh was scheduled to visit North Carolina, but sometimes things happen in high school that take precedence over plans for the future. This time it was a homecoming dance, the last one he would have the chance to attend as a high school student.
“I moved it to Jan. 23,” he commented, so the Tar Heels have remained in the mix. He has also set a trip for UCF on Jan. 9. With two visits set, Walsh hopes to have everything planned soon.

"I still want to take official visits to Florida and Florida State, but I haven’t set them up yet,” he said. “I will probably get everything done within the next three to four weeks.” He doesn’t plan on making any final decisions until he sees all of his top schools.
“I am going to wait until my official visits to decide,” he said. “I have talked to Florida, Maryland, and Tennessee coming on strong lately. I really don’t have top five, though, and Syracuse is in there too.”
Other schools still in the mix that have offered include Iowa State, NC State, and East Carolina. Florida and Florida State have yet to offer.
Paul stands 6-foot-6, weighs 288 pounds, and runs the 40-yard dash in 5.2 seconds. He has had a very good senior season grading out at over 80% and recording more than 100 pancake blocks. North Florida Christian is 5-4 and will play in the first round of the playoffs this upcoming weekend.
Walsh will have no problems qualifying academically. He maintains a 3.0 GPA and has already scored a 21 on the ACT.
