Walls gives Gators a 10
The No. 24 player in the country, Pittsburgh (Pa.) Woodland Hills cornerback Darrin Walls took his third official visit this past weekend to Gainesville to witness Florida's win over Tennessee. What did the 6-foot, 172-pounder with 4.4-second speed think of his visit?
"I had a lot of fun and everything was really nice. The players, coaches and weather were great," he said. "I got up there on Saturday and went to lunch and took a visit of the offices for student life and academic support. Then we went and walked with the team while the fans cheered and I saw the game. After the game, other recruits and I went into the locker room with the team. On Sunday, I met with the strength and conditioning coaches, the president of the school, my position coach and had dinner with all the coaches. I had about 30 minutes with each coach and I really enjoyed my time with coach Meyer. I really felt like he was honest and didn't tell me any lies. He just told me the situation at Florida."

The No. 1 cornerback in the country, and Rivals100 member, really enjoyed his visit to the Swamp.
"The game was crazy and the fans probably gave Florida an advantage. They have terrific fans and they were nonstop the entire game. That was probably the best game I've been to," he said. "I think Florida is going to be a good team. They have two corners that will be leaving and that's a big thing for me. I like the way their defense is run because no one knows what they'll do. They mostly run man-to-man, but are very aggressive."
Walls was hosted on his visit to Florida by fellow cornerback Avery Atkins.
"He was a really nice guy and one of the top cornerbacks last year coming out of high school," he said. "He showed me around and told me what he liked and didn't like at Florida. He said that they're a team that is based around chemistry and family. He told me that coach Meyer is just like a father to them."
Overall the five-star prospect was very impressed with his visit.
"I'd say it was a 9.8 or 10," he said. "That was the best game I've ever been to and I just had a lot of fun on my visit. Michigan and Pittsburgh were nice trips, but this visit certainly helped Florida and it was the best visit I've been on so far because of the game and the coaches have great personalities. I would say I still don't have a favorite at this time, they are all at the top for me."
Currently, Walls has one more visit scheduled to Notre Dame next month, but the prospect is considering adding one more between now and then.
