Keenan Walker isn't rushing out to binge tour college campuses. Unofficial visits are coming together slowly. The only ones he has in mind for the time being are products of convenience.
He'll be in California for a camp in March, so the four-star 2015 prospect figures he should take a look around while he's out there. He's letting the entire process come to him. He's too young to be in much of a hurry.
"I'm going to a Rivals camp in California, like, Mar. 1," Walker said. "I'm going to visit USC and UCLA while I'm out there."
The new coaching staff at USC is a bit of a mystery to Walker, as he has not gotten the chance to build a relationship with the Steve Sarkisian regime. Walker's hope is that a connection will be in place before he visits in May.
As has been the case since Walker became a sought-after prospect, he names no early favorites. He does, however, point out that Arizona State is the program recruiting him the hardest at the moment. How much of a difference that will make is unclear at this early juncture. But if recruiting was scored by effort, the Sun Devils would be out in front.
"ASU talks to me the most," Walker said. "They want me to go over and visit and check things out. We talk a lot."
According to Walker, ASU's proximity to Walker's Scottsdale-based family home will play a limited role in his recruitment. Location will not be a driving factor in his decision.
Walker is the No. 142-ranked prospect in the class of 2015. He is also ranked as the No. 18 offensive tackle. He currently holds seven scholarship offers.
