Keenan Walker has the luxury of options - nine of them to be exact. The high school junior does not lack for scholarship offers, and more seem to be appearing weekly.
It's why Walker, a four-star tackle at Scottsdale (Ariz.) Chaparral High School doesn't name favorites at such an early juncture. It's also why he intends to take unofficial visits to UCLA and USC at a yet-to-be-determined date later this spring.
"USC is really recruiting me hard," Walker said. "Not so much UCLA right now but I've been talking to USC a lot.
"USC wants me to get out there and check the campus out. I want to get out to Texas A&M soon, too. I want to visit Washington as well."
But while there's no stated frontrunner to land Walker's commitment, some schools are more involved in his recruitment than others. And the list of programs in hottest pursuit is led by an in-state option.
"Arizona is really on me the hardest right now," Walker said. "I love U of A. I love everything about U of A. I like that coaching staff and everything."
Walker's most recent offer came from Michigan. And while the 266-pound lineman has base knowledge of the program, he intends to find out more in the near future. The relationship remains in its early stages.
"I don't know much about them," Walker said of the Wolverines. "I know it's Michigan and that they were a really dominant program. Craig Roh went there and he came from my high school. The whole Roh clan went to my school."
Walker says he originally planned to commit sometime during spring workouts, but has since backed off of that stance. He now has no timetable for a decision and says he will commit "when it feels right."
