Skinny: Walker is one of the top wide receivers in the state of Texas for the Class of 2004. His statistics from his sophomore year to his junior season more than doubled. A similar jump, according to Walker, hopefully is in the plans for his final campaign.
"I have improved the last two years," Walker said. "I think that will continue to be the case this year. I'd like to improve on my numbers from last season."
Walker, while having lots of schools writing him letters, still is awaiting his scholarship offers to come in.
"I don't have any official offers yet," he said. "But, I'm sure that will come with time. I know the calling period is coming soon (May 1). So maybe that will bring the offers."
Walker recently finished up his basketball season and jumped right into track.
"I run the 200-meter, and I do some of the relays. It keeps me active and working on getting better. It's good for me."
Walker doesn't anticipate pulling the trigger anytime real soon.
"I hopefully will be able to take my time and make a decision when I feel like it is the thing to do," Walker said. "I don't want to rush into something just to get it done. I'll try to learn as much as I can about the schools and find the one that is best for me."
