Catawba (N.C.) Bandys linebacker Matthew Woodlief had been leaning toward Wake Forest for a few weeks now, just ahead of North Carolina, but Sunday he decided to end the recruiting process with a pledge.
"I decided to commit to Wake Forest," Woodlief, the No. 25 player in North Carolina according to Rivals.com, said. "I wanted to get the decision out of the way before the season started. Now the pressure is all off of me. I'm excited about my choice, and now I don't have to hear from everybody 'where are you going.' "
Woodlief, who is 6-foot and 230 pounds, has been timed as fast as 4.4-seconds in the 40-yard dash and also has a 305-pound bench press. He said he was recruited by Wake assistant Ray McCartney.
