The Wake Forest football program got a boost this week as they received a verbal commitment from Chris Barclay, a 5-foot-10, 170-pound cornerback/running back from Louisville (Ky.) Male.
“I committed to Wake Forest on Monday, right after I came back from my visit there.” Barclay said.
Asked what factors led him to his decision, Barclay noted, “First, they are close to home, plus they want me to play running back, which I prefer, and also, I think I will have a chance at some playing time in two years. I also enjoy how the offense likes to spread the field, so that will open up the running game.”
Barclay noted he would redshirt his first year at Wake Forest. He also had interest from schools such as Boston College, Purdue, Northwestern, Louisville, and Kentucky.
