Waiting for the right one

Owasso, Okla., all-purpose back K.J. Washington is one of the better rushers in Oklahoma.
As a junior he racked up 1,000 yards, 15 touchdowns and additional 325 yards receiving. He also impressed at the College Station NIKE Training Camp, clocking a very solid 4.57-second time in the 40-yard dash.

However, the 5-foot-9, 161-pound running back has yet to rack up his first scholarship offer.
"I'm interested in going anywhere that's interested in having me," Washington said. "I've got some serious interest in Tulsa, especially if they offer me. I'm hearing from Tennessee, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, Iowa State, Kansas State, Michigan State, Arkansas, and Tulsa. I don't have any offers yet, but Tulsa is real close. I'm going to a camp they're having on the July 22nd to cover some wide receivers for them."
Washington said he's just looking for the right opportunity at this point and he's open to a lot of different things. But he does know he doesn't want to wait around forever to get a shot at playing.
"Playing time will be important to me and I'm not worried about the location," he said. "Playing time will be most important factor for me. I can be second string for all I care, I just want to get on the field and do something. Special teams, punt returns, kick returns, whatever it is.
"I'm just waiting to hear from more teams. I probably won't make a decision until after my season is over. I'll go to see what all my choices are instead of deciding early and then have another team not approach me because I made an early decision."
