Wade mulling official visit destinations

Despite his Ohio State commitment, Shaun Wade is looking around. That’s not news. The defensive back has been talking to other schools for the duration of his time as a member of the Buckeyes’ recruiting class. And while he’s toured a number of campuses and fielded calls from a long string of coaches, the list of schools that actually have a chance to land his commitment is short.

So which schools aside from Ohio State are actually in the running? Wade rattles the group off quickly.

“Florida, Notre Dame, Alabama, Virginia Tech and probably UCLA, but that’s it for now,” he said on Saturday.

A five-star prospect from Jacksonville Fla., Wade is in the process of finalizing an official visit schedule. The process has ben slow and deliberate. As of now, he has just two destinations set in stone.

“Ohio State and Notre Dame are the only two official visits I know for sure right now,” Wade said. “That’s just for now. I’ll take more but I know those two.”

IN HIS WORDS: “Ohio State is just telling me they really want me,” Wade said. “They really ant me, but they say I can look around a little if I want.”

RIVALS REACTION: Wade has been seen as a soft Ohio State commit for some time, but his pledge to the Buckeyes has endured. Florida was once seen as the major threat to steal the five-star defensive back, but now it seems as though Alabama may be the program to watch. Much of Wade’s recruitment will be dictated by his official visits, as a solid one to Ohio State could sure things up for the Buckeyes.
