Wade excited about latest offer

It took a lot longer than we expected but Portland (Ore.) Benson Tech defensive lineman Myles Wade finally received that elusive second scholarship offer. Oregon State was the first school to offer way back in September and the talented tackle now has an offer from his childhood favorite.
Wade, 6-2, 300 pounds is one of the elite defensive line prospects in the West region. He had a dominant showing at the NIKE Camp in Oregon a year ago where he clocked a 5.10 in the 40, 4.47 in the shuttle, jumped 28 inches in the vertical and did 25 reps on the bench. He also dominated in the position and one on one drills and is likely the top prospect in the state for the class of 2007.

As for the new offer, Wade said the hometown Oregon Ducks just offered over the weekend.
"Oregon was my favorite school growing up so I was really excited about the offer," Wade said. "I've probably been to about 11 Civil War games growing up and also rooted for Oregon. Having an offer from both in-state schools means a lot to me and the two are probably my co-leaders right now. Oregon State was my leader since they were the first school to offer but now that Oregon has offered, I would put those two as my favorites.
"Washington and Colorado are both recruiting me hard too and it sounds like they could be close to offering as well. Notre Dame is going to be coming by the high school next week and I'm hearing a lot from USC, UCLA and Michigan right now too. My top five would be the two Oregon schools followed by UCLA, Washington and USC.
"I'm going to camp with both Oregon and Oregon State and then either UCLA or USC, I'm not sure which one right now. If it work out schedule wise, I would try and attend a day at each of the schools but I need to check on that and see when the dates are."
As a junior, Wade totaled 55 tackles, eight sacks and forced three fumbles. He'll attend the NIKE camp at Stanford May 13.
