WA athlete taking things slow

Not much has changed for Lakewood (Wash.) Lakes athlete Jermaine Kearse since the last time we talked with him. The two way standout still has a host of offers on the table but still hasn't begun to narrow his list down much.
Kearse, 6-0, 170 pounds was one of the top players we saw at the NIKE Camp in Oregon last June. Although we had previously thought of Kearse as a defensive back prospect, he worked out with the receivers at the NIKE Camp in Oregon and performed very well.

He's a big, strong receiver who plays even bigger than his listed HT/WT. Kearse is a physical kid who can get separation and is very athletic. He's not a burner but runs well after the catch and has pretty solid hands.
On the recruiting front, Kearse has offers from all four big NW schools plus Arizona State, Cal, Hawaii and Colorado.
"I'm still open to everyone," Kearse said. "I do like the Pac 10 schools but I haven't really narrowed my list and I'm not close to setting up any trips right now.
"My plan is to take all five of my visits but I'm not sure if I'll do those during the season or when our season is over."
At the time of the NIKE Camp, Kearse listed Oregon, Cal and Washington and said he's still high on all three.
"Yeah, I like those schools but I like a lot of others as well," Kearse said. "I was at Oregon for the NIKE Camp and it's a really nice place. I like the campus and the facilities.
"I've never been to Cal but they have a strong program and I think I would fit in well with that offense. Washington is close to home and is a school I've watched for a long time now."
