VTO Top 100: Best of Charlotte

MORE: Rivals100 | Rivals250
The VTO Top 100 always allows kids who have been under the radar to shine and hopefully get the exposure they have been wanting. That is exactly what several prospects got Sunday afternoon as they impressed and earned a shot at future success in Charlotte.

The defensive line group was by the most impressive group on the afternoon, with several recruits who could be earning offers soon looking like potential steals.
Players such as class of 2016 prospect 2016 Joshua Brown (Mallard Creek) and Zane Smith really stood out on the defensive line, with several others including TJ Smith (North Stanly) and Randy Suydam (Mallard Creek) making their presence known.
On the offensive line, Emanuel McGirt really stood out early on with his wide body and hand placement. McGirt, from Hillside High School, won the Sleeper award and is a name to remember, as he is hearing from several ACC schools.
Logan Tisch (Chapel Hill High) was the most impressive in the group, as he looked like a solid rock on the DL vs. OL battles. His hand placement, footwork and power all were on display. He is one of those under-the-radar guys that several programs would love to have.
For the playmakers on the field, Austin Kendall is a dynamic quarterback with his strong arm and speed, certainly being one of the faster quarterbacks in the agility competition. One can certainly see why his recruitment is picking up as a Division-I type player.
At running back, class of 2017 product Christian Beal certainly impressed the coaches, earning top running back honors at the camp.
Players such as Miles Kelly (Hillside), Raymond Green Jr., Deshaun Farmer (Tarboro), and Zach Goins (Weddington) all showed some impressive skills at wide receiver that could translate to the next level.
Kelly went home with the award as the top wide receiver, showing the same speed and footwork he displayed on the field this past season.
"I went hard out there, just out to prove myself that I can be considered one of the best," Kelly said.
Kelly currently has an offer from Elon but has had interest in several other schools such as N.C. State, Duke, East Carolina.
There were several impressive prospects at the defensive back position, but one stood out in the eyes of the coaches. Nafees Lyon arrived late but blew the coaches away with his field awareness and athletic ability. Lyon has offers from Charlotte and North Texas but has received interest from several other schools such as North Carolina and N.C. State.
Listed below are all the top performers at each position.
Quarterback: Jordan Lane (Victory Christian)
Wide Receiver: Miles Kelly (Hillside)
Running Back: Christian Beal (East Forsyth)
Linebacker: Jawan Ferrell (Patrick Henry)
Offensive Line: Logan Tisch (Chapel Hill)
Defensive Line: Zane Smith
Defensive Back: Nafees Lyon (Mallard Creek)
Tight End: Chanler Renna (Overhills)
Athlete: Kyle Horton
Sleeper: Emanuel McGirt (Hillside)
The three players who were invited to the Rivals Camp Series event to be held on March 30 in Charlotte were offensive lineman Logan Tisch, running back Christian Beal and cornerback Marquill Osbourne. One player was selected also to the Rivals Underclassman Challenge, as Melvin Rouse II, from Charlotte Latin, received that honor.
"I thought the camp was pretty good and it was a good experience," Rouse said. "I was honored to get the underclassman award, and my mind set through the camp was just to compete at a high level and to just work hard."
