VTO Birmingham: What to watch

The VTO Camp will arrive in Birmingham on Sunday with more than 100 high school prospects looking for a great environment to compete and more exposure for the next level. They will face plenty of competition.

Quarterback

Eight signal callers are all great under the lights on Friday night. Let's see them shine at this event: Brandon Butts (JB Pennington), Seth Franks (Tuscaloosa County), Pietro "P.J." Garrett (Leeds), Drew Guy (Fayette County), Keilan Knight (Center Point), TaDarryl Marshall (Leeds), Ko Powell (Oneonta), Christopher Weaver (Saraland).


Running back

Several high-profile programs are sending their ball carriers to showcase their talents. A lot are anxious to get an up-close look at 2017 prospect William Ignont (Buckhorn) who is already 6-foot-2, 215 pounds. A couple have been back-ups on championship teams, but many have been the mainstays of their team's offense already: Kamaury Avery (Wadley), Devan Ballard (North Jackson), Carlos Davis (Muscle Shoals), Kavonte McDonald (Muscle Shoals), Kris Parker (Hoover), Devin Reed (Hewitt-Trussville), Dont'e Skinner (Spain Park/Minor), Jarrion Street (Hewitt-Trussville), Kenneth Thomas (Central-Phenix City), Marcus Webb (Hoover), Malik Webster (Independence), Tyler Wright (Leeds).


Wide receiver

These players have created chatter already for various skills including great hands, great routes, and ladder climbers: Jay Banks (Olive Branch, Miss.), Keitric Baker (Dothan), Cedric Bradford (Northridge), Jacob Dean (Mortimer Jordan), Karon Delince (Central-Phenix City), Malyk Erwin (Northridge), Torrey Hunt (Bob Jones), Jermaine Johnson (Leeds), Grant Larson (Brookwood), Jamarius Leatherwood (Sipsey Valley), Rashad Nelson (Bob Jones), Marion Smith (Jemison), Eric Washington (Austin), Nigel Younger (Midfield). Cornerback
