VT offers 2015 LB

Virginia Tech has been handing out offers left and right. One of them went to junior linebacker Chad Smith from Sterling (Va.) Dominion.
"I've been talking to Virginia Tech for a while," said the 6-foot-4, 210-pound Smith. "I was at their one-day camp. They really liked me a lot and said they would be watching all of my film. They told me that once they got to really sit down and watch everything that they wanted to offer me."

The Hokies were the fourth school to offer Smith.
"UNC-Charlotte was my first offer," he said. "It happened during my sophomore year towards the end of winter. My second offer came at the beginning of the season from Pittsburgh. Illinois followed toward the middle of the season and Virginia Tech was this week.
"I know that Pittsburgh has a great program up there," Smith said. "I went to their one-day camp during the summer. It was a great experience. It was very competitive and I got to show off what I can do. They told me that they liked what they saw in me and would be following me. I also went to their game against Notre Dame. It was a great experience. They played a heck of a game. I'm excited to continue to talk with them and see what they can offer me in the future.
"The Illinois offer came about when one of their recruiters came to the school," he said. "I talked to the coach that night about their program and he asked about my season. Shortly after that I had an offer from them."
Recruiting is really heating up for Smith.
"I've been talking with Duke, Penn State, North Carolina, Virginia, ECU, Missouri and Vanderbilt," said Smith. "I think I am finished with visits for games this season."
Dominion lost in the second round of the Virginia 4A North playoffs.
