Speedy wide receiver Khafre Brown is working his way back from December knee surgery but that hasn't slowed down his recruitment. Many schools are still reaching out to the 2019 Rivals250 prospect out of Charlotte (N.C.) West Mecklenburg.

IN HIS OWN WORDS…

"My offensive coordinator has been in touch with schools like North Carolina, Michigan, and all the schools for me," Brown said. " He makes sure they are keeping up with me.

"I'm trying to visit Tennessee," he said. "I haven't been there yet so I'm really trying to get out there and get an offer from them.

"I'm going to try to find a school that I like with the right environment and the right program," said Brown. "My brother (Rivals250 wide receiver Dyami Brown) going to North Carolina doesn't really matter to me. Track is really big for me. I'm trying to find a school that will let me do track and football at the same time. I'm trying to do a football scholarship and run track."

RIVALS' REACTION

Brown's recruitment is different than his brother's was in that track will play a much bigger role in his decision. There will still be a definite draw to Chapel Hill but teams like Alabama, Oregon, Tennessee, and others that Brown has football offers from and have top track teams will have a bit of a leg up on the competition. Brown had knee surgery in December 2016 and has yet to play this season. Prior to his knee injury, he ran the 100 meter dash in 10.61 seconds in July. In July of this year Brown ran the 100 meter dash in 10.87 seconds.
