Vols pick up local kicker

Tennessee picked up some more special teams help when it got its second verbal commitment from a kicker Thursday night.
Knoxville (Tenn.) Central kicker/punter Lones Seiber received a scholarship offer from the Vols and jumped on it, becoming Tennessee's ninth verbal commitment, according to a source familiar with his recruitment.

The 5-foot-9, 165-pounder has 20 career field goals and has a career average of 46.2 yards per punt. His father is in the military and stationed at Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany. Seiber played only one season of high school football in the United States.
Seiber chose the Vols ahead of offers from Kentucky and Tennessee Tech.
He joins Ocala (Fla.) prospect Daniel Lincoln as the second kicking prospect in Tennessee's class of 2006.
