Vols offer 2015 OL Barnett

Last weekend, Ridgeville (S.C.) Woodland defensive lineman Michael Barnett made the trip to Gainesville for the Gators Friday Night Lights (FNL) Camp. He was hard to miss at 6-foot-7, 239-pounds and he certainly passes the eye test with his exceptional height and wingspan.
Barnett enjoyed the FNL event and getting to learn more about the Florida program. One of the things that stood out for Barnett was the chance to get to work with UF defensive line coach Brad Lawing.

The rising junior stated, "The camp was pretty cool. I got a chance to work with coach Lawing again. I know I have a lot to work on with my hand placement and playing standing up."
He doesn't list any favorites and he will likely decide during his senior year. According to Barnett, Florida and Virginia Tech are recruiting him the hardest early on.
While in Gainesville he added a new offer from Tennessee. Barnett didn't have much to say on the latest offer from the Vols. Despite BCS offers he is new relatively new to college football and the recruiting process.
"I didn't have any childhood favorites. I really didn't like football. I was fat. I just laid around everyday," said Barnett. "Three years ago I couldn't see myself in this position."
It appears he has shed his unwanted weight and is track to be a national level recruit.
As a sophomore, he registered 63 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, nine sacks, and three fumble recoveries.
