Vols, Irish lead for Ohio DE

The state of Ohio is home to an enormous amount of talent at the defensive end position and one of the best is favoring Notre Dame and Tennessee.
The recruitment of LaTroy Lewis is bound to be fierce moving forward.

The 6-foot-4, 230-pound defensive end from Akron (Ohio) Hoban has taken some time away from the recruiting process this summer. The last trips he took were to Tennessee and Vanderbilt over spring break. Right now Lewis is on vacation and he has put the process on hold.
Lewis can do that because he already has a pretty good idea of what he thinks about the process.
"Right now I know I want to go back to Tennessee this summer but that's the only thing that's coming up for sure," Lewis explained.
"I would put them in my top two with Notre Dame."
Notre Dame and Tennessee traditionally recruit as well nationally as almost anyone. The Irish have a dozen commitments in this class while Tennessee has just two.
"For me the big difference between the two is education," he noted. "A Notre Dame education is huge plus their football is huge. Tennessee's education is fair but my major, nursing, is strong there.
"They both have their pros and cons, I guess."
Both schools are recruiting Lewis as a rush end. He was originally planning on having a decision made before the start of his senior season but now is having second thoughts.
"What I've come to realize is I don't need to force anything on myself," he said. "If it happens before the season then it happens. If not then that's okay."
