Vols first to offer Dade County DE

When it comes to prospects from Florida, Delvin Jones will be one of the most highly coveted players from the Sunshine State. Jones, 6-6 and 230 pounds, is a wide receiver/ defensive end prospect. He just got off the phone with Tennessee and the Volunteers were the first school to offer him.
"Honestly, I don't know too much about them and this new staff but I have obviously seen them play," Jones said. "I guess you could say Tennessee has moved up my list. Boy it feels good to get that first offer under your belt.

"I called up coach (Eddie) Gran and spoke with coach (Lane) Kiffin. We had a great talk and they talked with my mom. I mean we were on the phone for like an hour. This was a good night for us."
Jones played defensive end last year for Miami (Fla.) LaSalle High School last year. He recorded 70 tackles and 20 sacks. He also caught 9 passes for 90 yards and one touchdown. Jones is now at Miami Palmetto and he believes he will play wide receiver this season.
Jones believes South Carolina is close to offering, as well as LSU. He also likes Florida, USC, Miami, Texas and others.
Jones was one of the standouts at last week's Badger Sports Skills Passing Camp playing receiver at this event.
