Vols, Cocks among leaders for ATH

Hixson (Tenn.) athlete Wilford Blowe says four schools share space atop his current list of favorites.
“Right now, it’s UT, Auburn, South Carolina and MTSU,” he said. “I don’t really have them in order or anything, but those are the four who have shown the most interest. UT, Auburn and MTSU have offered me. I think South Carolina is just waiting for me to get my ACT score. They're calling me and sending me all kinds of stuff lately.”

He also has a scholarship offer from Vanderbilt and is receiving steady interest from Wake Forest and Marshall.
Blowe (6-0, 187, 4.5) is a versatile athlete who has played quarterback, tailback and wide receiver as a senior. In four games (he missed one with an injury) he has rushed for 254 yards and had 170 yards receiving. He’s being recruited as a quarterback by Vanderbilt, an offensive athlete by Tennessee and MTSU, and a defensive back by Auburn.
He once listed the Tigers as his leader, but now says things have “evened up.”
“They were showing me the most interest at one point, but they’ve slipped off just a little bit, and now it’s UT,” he said. “They’ve really be on me hard. I went up to their game Saturday against Georgia. The coaches gave me a lot of attention. I liked that.”
Blowe said he’ll wait until the season ends to schedule his official visits.
Academically, he maintains a 3.0 GPA and is waiting to receive his latest test scores.
