Vista corner has you covered

Vista, Calif., high school could have at least five prospects land D-I scholarships in the class of 2003. Pac10Recruiting already profiled RB/LB standout Sale Faraimo.
Another one to keep your eye on is Vista cornerback Leon Hall. Hall certainly has the dimensions D-I colleges love to see in cornerback. He stands 6-foot-1, weighs 180 pounds and was timed in the 40-yard dash in 4.42 at the Nike camp held at USC in April.

Hall was an all-league selection for a San Diego CIF Section Division I championship team. The league that Hall plays in is arguably San Diego’s toughest. Anyone that knows anything about the level of San Diego football knows what an accomplishment making all-league as a junior is.
Just for your information San Diego is one the leading suppliers for NFL talent.
“Leon is a Quentin Jammer (Texas All-America and NFL first-rounder) kind of player,” Vista head coach Greg Hauser said. “Leon is someone who can cover you and he’s someone who will hit you. He is such an outstanding player.”
When you are a “Quentin Jammer type player” the tendency is to stay out that type of player’s jurisdiction and that is exactly what the opposition did. Avoid Hall at al cost.
Still Hall was able to pick up 26 tackles, four interceptions and one fumble recovery from his cornerback position.
“Leon is a huge recruit,” Hauser said. “Everyone who came by the school this month said they are going to offer.”
ASU, Oregon, Cal, USC, WSU, UCLA from the Pac10 are all recruiting Hall. Utah and San Diego State from the Mountain West are also in the hunt. Fresno State from WAC is also expected to offer.
Pac10Recruiting will keep an eye on Hall and more reports on the other athletes from San Diego powerhouse Vista high.
