Visits over for Whitehurst

Gainesville (Fla.) linebacker Tashon Whitehurst took an official visit to Rutgers this weekend to check out Greg Schiano's program.
"It was a good visit," Whitehurst said. "I had a good time up there."

During his time around the Scarlet Knights, the Sunshine State defender said that learning the defensive principles that they utilize on the field made an impression upon him.
"I like the way that they run their defense," Whitehurst said. "I think I could fit into their defense."
During the visit, the 6-foot-2, 190-pound linebacker was hosted by another Florida native.
"I was hosted by Jawan (Jamison)," Whitehurst said. "He told me that it is fun up there. He also said that they work real hard up there."
Whitehurst, who is committed to Syracuse, isn't ready to put an end to his recruitment. But at this point, he says his official visits are over.
"I still have a decision to make," Whitehurst said. "I am going to make it sometime this week. I just have to sit down with my family and discuss everything.
"It is going to be from USF, Rutgers, and Syracuse," Whitehurst added.
Whitehurst visited Syracuse in early December and South Florida last weekend.
