Visits crucial for Stanton

Johnny Stanton is hitting the road a lot in the coming weeks and it could be helpful as the Rancho Santa Margarita (Calif.) Santa Margarita Catholic dual-threat quarterback considers all his options.
This week the 6-foot-2, 200-pound prospect is with some teammates at Colorado, Colorado State and Air Force and then next week Stanton is expected to visit Notre Dame. Later this month, the three-star recruit is headed to Washington's junior day.

All of them are crucial for the three-star quarterback.
"They haven't shown too much interest but I was hoping to get up there to visit the school and see how I like it," Stanton said of Notre Dame. "I'd definitely be interested in them but I'm going to keep my options open.
"With Washington, I've heard the Jake Locker comparisons a couple times. I was able to talk to coach (Tosh) Lupoi and I want to get a chance to talk to the entire coaching staff. That will be pretty cool."
So far, the Santa Margarita Catholic dual-threat quarterback lists offers from Cal, Washington and Air Force. Since so many schools remain interested, Stanton said he doesn't want to rush a decision.
All these visits could help in his decision-making process though.
"I'm not really sure yet about when I'm going to decide," Stanton said. "I don't have a timeframe for myself. I'll know when I'll know and then I'll make a decision."
Rivals.com rates Stanton as the No. 20 dual-threat quarterback in the 2013 class.
In his junior season, Stanton threw for 2,439 yards with 13 touchdowns and rushed for 1,428 yards and 21 scores.
