LSU had some talent on its campus Saturday and one of the best was Nathan Pickering, a four-star defensive lineman out of Seminary (Miss.).

It was the second time Pickering has visited Baton Rouge. His first visit was for the Arkansas game last season. This visit could not have gone any better.

"Today was different from my first time at LSU because we had more time to take the tour, to see more stuff, and to interact with the coaches," said Pickering. "It was really a great experience. I got to see everything LSU has to offer and it was amazing."

The 6-foot-5, 277 pound junior got a lot of time with head coach Ed Orgeron. Their time together left a mark on Pickering.

"I love coaches who want to coach you and really want to talk to you and that is what coach O did Saturday. A lot of coaches just tell you what you want to hear, but coach O was honest and that really stood out to me.

"I really believed what he said to me today. He didn't beat around the bush, he was straight with me and I just feel he was honest from the beginning.

"We just talked about the overall program and I believed every word he said. I believe in him as a coach too and what he can do with the LSU program."

When asked about the highlights of the visit, of course one was his time with coach O, but the academic presentation, how he felt welcome from the moment he arrived and how those in Baton Rouge push their guys on and off the field daily were three others listed.

Pickering plans to cut his list down at some point this spring, so he has no favorites at this time, but with the visit to LSU, all know the Tigers are on his mind.

They only helped themselves this weekend.

"It was no surprise how much I liked it at LSU because I have been there before, but this visit boosts them up in my mind," said Pickering. "It is a great school, I have always loved LSU and I have a great visit."

He plans to visit Georgia next weekend.
