Visit puts ND among Trattous favorites

Joining many of the other top 2007 recruits in the country, Ramsey (N.J.) Don Bosco Prep defensive end Justin Trattou attended Notre Dame's spring game this past Saturday. The 6-foot-4, 230-pounder enjoyed his trip to South Bend.
"I liked the visit a lot, it was definitely everything I expected," he said. "I got to meet all the coaches when I arrived, tour the school including more of the campus and witness the spring game.

"The game was crazy with 41,000 people there. People were there as early as 8 a.m. in the morning to get in. I think the team is looking really good on offense and defense. I particularly was looking at my position at defensive end and No. 95 (Victor Abiamiri). I'd like to be a lot like him because he was playing like an animal out there running over the tackles and is really quick too."
Trattou got to meet with the coaching staff on his visit too.
"I talked to Charlie Weis, Jappy Oliver and John Latina," he said. "I enjoyed talking to coach Oliver and Latina a lot. Meanwhile, I thought coach Weis was a great guy. I would definitely love to play for a guy like that because he is real genuine and wants to win and that is what I'm all about."
Although the lineman prospect wouldn't comment on any favorites at this time, he did say his visit to Notre Dame definitely puts the Irish up there amongst his favorites.
"I'd say this visit was probably my favorite trip yet," he said. "I generally liked the whole school and it has a good feel there. I think it would be a good fit for me."
Next week Trattou plans to attend the Elite College Combine, but won't participate in drills. Meanwhile, the defensive end prospect has picked up one more scholarship offer recently from Minnesota.
