Visit No. 2 For Five-Star LB

Wesley Jefferson is widely considered to be one of the top linebackers and defensive players in the nation. He's set two official visits thus far and wants to get his others scheduled soon.
"I decided a while back that I would visit Miami on Dec. 13. Recently I found out I would be visiting Maryland a week later on Dec. 20. I'm looking forward to both visits, especially Miami. They catch everyone's best shot and keep on winning. I can't wait to meet some of the guys down there because you hear so much about them and the area down there is a supposed to be really fun. Maryland is going to be a good trip, especially because I'll get to see how the program looks close up. I'm so close to their campus and have already seen a lot, so I hope I can learn even more. I want to set my other officials, but those are the only ones I have set so far."

Jefferson has recorded 70 tackles and six sacks as his Brandywine (Md.) Gwynn Park team has started off hot. One play sticks out in Jefferson's mind.
"I blocked a punt and that was awesome. I just busted through the line and got my hands on it. That will probably be the best memory of this year from an individual perspective."
Jefferson runs the 40-yard dash in 4.6 seconds, which is tremendous for a player 6-foot-2, 235 pounds. He bench presses about 330 pounds and squats around 450. He has offers from pretty much every school in the nation, including Miami. So what other schools have caught Jefferson's eye?
"I like Notre Dame and they've attracted me for a while now. They're for real and they have an awesome coach. I shocked some people a week or so ago when I said that I liked Hawaii. The place itself is awesome because of the weather and all, but I like the team a lot. Their coach has turned their program around completely. Virginia is still high on my list and so is Ohio State as well as Penn State.
"I want to take my official visits before I decide. I'm going to wind up going all over the country on those visits, so it will be a good overall experience for me and hopefully it will help me to make a great decision."
