Virginias Top CB Has Slight Leader

Centreville, Va. cornerback Marcus Hamilton has a new top five list – well, at least a new top four.

“Georgia has a slight lead over Virginia and Syracuse right now,” said the 6-foot-1, 180-pounder who is considered the best shutdown corner in Virginia this recruiting year. “NC State is fourth and my fifth team is open. NC State has dropped because I haven’t ever spoken to their defensive backs coach. Not once.”

Hamilton said that Boston College, Tennessee, Pitt and North Carolina could slide into that fifth slot, or even as high as second or third.

“It’s still all very open right now,” he said. “I need to sit down and think about things. Things will also change once coaches can start contacting me again.”

As a junior, Hamilton knocked down an impressive 11 passes and picked off two more while most teams decided not to test his side of the field. He has over 20 offers.
