Offers are on the rise for 6-foot-0, 183-pound wide receiver Harry Lee Daniel out of Highland Springs, Va. The Richmond area prospect picked up an offer recently from Navy and has nearly a half dozen scholarships.
"I got the offer from Navy a couple weeks ago and visited them on the 20th," he said. "I also have offers from Temple, Richmond, Delaware and Liberty.
"It's an honor to get offered by such a prestigious school like Navy especially at the wide receiver position. It was a great visit out there. The atmosphere pre-game is great and just being there with the coaches. I had fun on my visit."
While Navy pulled the trigger, a few other schools are still looking.
"I went to East Carolina and they are interested," he said. "I'm also planning to visit North Carolina, Virginia and Virginia Tech soon. They continue to watch me.
"I went to ECU on October 6th. I met all the coaches and coach Holtz is a great man. It was great being down there and they have a terrific school. I think they're going to wait until after the season to offer.
"As for the other schools, they want to see more senior film. I think some plan to come on November 9th for the Varina game. I am looking at taking a couple visits to Virginia Tech on November 10th and Virginia on November 24th."
Is there a favorite for the two-star prospect at this time?
"Nobody sticks out right now, everything is even."
In the meantime, Daniel has helped his team to a 7-0 record.
"I'm having fun and this is a special group of guys," he said. "Hopefully we can keep it going and make it to state.
"I'm playing well. I've scored in almost every game and have 28 receptions for 500-yards and 10 touchdowns. I've improved a lot on my blocking and route running this year."
