Virginia Tech Picks Up Another DE

Amherst, Va. defensive end Barry Booker has confirmed his commitment to Virginia Tech.
"I committed to Tech," said the 6-foot-4, 255-pounder who chose the Hokies over Virginia, North Carolina, East Carolina and Maryland. "I wanted to make my decision early so I didn't have to worry about things. Tech was the team I was waiting for."

Virginia Tech offered the rush end a few weeks ago and after some discussion, Booker decided to jump on the offer.
"I like that it's close to home, they have a great defense and the coaches are cool," he said. "I felt it gave me the best chance as a football player and as a person."
Booker was an all-district performer as a junior and had "more than 10 sacks, I don't really know my stats." He has played linebacker and fullback and some defensive end in high school.
"They want me strictly as a defensive end I think, but if I continue to get bigger I could move inside," he said. "I don't really have a preference."
