Virginia Tech adds LB Nathan Proctor

Virginia Tech did the unthinkable the other night coming back from a 24-point deficit and winning their bowl game. Now they’ve added a major piece to their 2017 recruiting class with the addition of four-star linebacker Nathan Proctor.

IN HIS OWN WORDS…

“The whole ‘Lunch Pail’ defense,” Proctor said. “I love where coach Foster is taking that defense. I love the way coach Fuente is changing the offense around and making them a championship team.

“I think we can get a championship,” he said. “We’ll get an ACC championship. Hopefully we can get a National Championship too.

“I fit in perfectly,” said Proctor. “It’s just like what I’ve been doing in high school, rushing the quarterback, dropping into coverage, and just roaming.”

RIVALS’ REACTION

Proctor will add an element of speed to the edge of the defense and will help add depth at the linebacker position. He will need to add weight and improve his reaction speed but you can’t teach his size and knack for making plays behind the line of scrimmage.
