Virginia TE Has Top Four

One of the best all-around tight ends in Virginia is receiving a lot of attention from schools all over region.
"I have been contacted by Virginia, East Carolina, Syracuse, Maryland, NC State, Tennessee, West Virginia, Boston College, Virginia Tech and Oklahoma,” said 6-foot-4, 240-pound David Matthews of Portsmouth (VA) Churchland. “I haven't received any scholarship offers yet, but I think after I clear up everything with my SATs I’ll get some offers."

With so many schools on his list he has still managed to pick a top four, along with a solid leader.
"My top four are Virginia Tech, Virginia, Oklahoma, and Boston College. Out of that group, my favorite is Virginia. I like that they are close to home and a program on the rise. I could see my family all the time from Charlottesville."
With Matthews' size and speed a good senior year would go a long way to securing a few scholarship offers. He runs the 40-yard dash in 4.7 seconds.
Whether Matthews receives any offers in the near future or not, he’s got a good idea of how long he wants to wait until he decides.
"I am hopefully going to decide by the end of the school year. This will give me enough time to make the right decision and make sure I pick the right school."
