Virginia Star Wide Open

Fairfax (Va.) Robinson linebacker Blake Shubert hasn’t narrowed down his list of favorites yet, but the 6-foot-1, 225-pound star should have plenty to choose from when the time comes.
“So far Stanford, Virginia Tech, Virginia, Clemson, Penn State, Wake Forest, Notre Dame, Marshall, Syracuse, Tennessee, Maryland, Pitt and UConn have visited my high school,” said Shubert. “I don’t really know which schools I like the best. It’s still early.”

Shubert runs the 40-yard dash in 4.6 seconds and plays for one of the top football programs in the state of Virginia. He’s not sure where he’s going to camp this summer and the early bet is that he’d prefer to stay in state and play for either Virginia or Virginia Tech if possible. Both schools are actively recruiting him.
As a junior Shubert had 150 tackles, three forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. He was named a second team all-state performer.
