Virginia sleeper RB begins to receive interest

Patrick County, Va. running back John Harris is one of a number of tailbacks to watch in the Commonwealth in 2009. The 5-foot-10, 185-pounder broke out last season for 1,340-yards and six touchdowns. The big season has resulted in interest for the talented tailback.
"He's getting some letters from schools, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, James Madison and Virginia," Patrick County head coach Brad Dalton said. "I think he's pretty open right now. He's just waiting to see whatever comes along.

"I think he's going to go to a combine in April at North Carolina. He's also looking at attending the first camp at Virginia Tech in June and maybe JMU."
Dalton broke down his talented prospect a bit more.
"He is a real gifted runner that ran a 10.99 100 as a freshman," he said. "He does things you can't teach and has a good knack for making a big play. He's a good polite, well-mannered kid off the field as well.
"He does have to work on getting stronger. He's stronger than you'd think. Of course he has to work in the classroom too."
