Virginia Replaces Hand With Another OL

While Virginia Tech fans are celebrating the commitment of Richmond (Va.) Varina stud defensive tackle Jonathan Lewis today, the Cavs picked up an impressive recruit of their own.
"Ron committed to Virginia yesterday," said Glen Burnie, Md. head coach Brad Wilson of offensive/defensive lineman Ron Darden. "They offered him yesterday and he took no time at all to commit."

Darden, a 6-foot-4, 315-pounder, will play along the offensive line for Virginia and will replace recently de-committed tackle Randy Hand. Darden chose Virginia over offers from Maryland, East Carolina and Kent State.
"I think the reason Ron didn't get as many offers was because he's only been playing football for two years now," said Wilson. "He was good enough to be named to the US Army All-American team and held his own out there really well. Ron wanted to go to UVA from the start and they're getting a good player and solid worker. He's not a project anymore."
