Junior To Watch: Nick Fleming

School: Chester (Va.) Thomas Dale

Position: Running Back

Size and speed: Fleming is 5-foot-9 and 195 pounds. He runs the 40-yard dash in 4.49 seconds.

Honors: First team all-conference, district, metro and second team all-state.

Statistics: Fleming rushed for 1,665 yards and 16 touchdowns as a junior.

Favorite schools: Open, but is receiving interest from Virginia, Virginia Tech, Tennessee, Duke, Maryland and West Virginia

Skinny: Fleming is one of the top rushers in Virginia and is already hearing from some of the region's top programs.

"I'm getting mail from the in-state schools and places like Tennessee, so I know that I'm going to be highly recruited," said Fleming. "A lot of schools have sent me mail. I grew up a Virginia Tech fan but I'm not sure how much that's going to play into my decision."

How would Fleming describe his playing style?

"I'm not really a runner that's going to dance around in the backfield. I can go around the tackle if I need to or if there's an opening, but I'm mostly a straight-ahead runner. I would probably consider myself mostly a power back, and I have good lower body strength. My offensive line won't be quite as good this year so we'll know more about me after my senior season," he laughed.

"I think I'm going to the Nike camp at Virginia Tech in the Spring. I'll probably also try to get up to the Penn State camp as well. I don't really have any leaders right at this moment."
